The Grand Palais exhibits contemporary, young, local, project-oriented artwork.

The objective is to create a space for the art of our time, design, research and experimentation. The Grand Palais aspires to engage a broad and diverse audience, create a sense of community and be a place for contemplation, stimulation and discussion relating to contemporary art and culture. The Grand Palais is not only limited to the visual arts; but also includes various disciplines such as music, literature, design and stage (theater).

The Grand Palais has neither obligations to the general public nor requirements to represent the commercial interests of collectors. Thus it may exercise complete freedom in composing its program. The program itself is also influenced by the unique architecture of the former terminal, as well as by the personal interests of its operators.
