O.T. Contemporary Art Space is one of the oldest independant art spaces in Switzerland. It was founded in 1994 and was the fusion of two other project spaces: Raum für aktuelle Kunst Prosart dating back to 1985 and Ausstellungsraum o.T. founded in 1988. O.T. is situated in an exceptional space above a horse stable at Lucerne’s periphery. Numerous now well-known international artists were shown at o.T. at a very early stage in their careers, often in first one-person exhibitions, among them Yael Bartana, Katja Bassanini, Fernando Bryce, Yan Duyvendak, Andrea Geyer, Alex Hanimann, Thomas Hirschhorn, Lutz / Guggisberg, Tatjana Marusic, Muda Mathis, Möslang / Guhl, Beat Streuli, Christian Vetter and others. Besides the presentation of international and national artists a focus of O.T. has always been the local scene. O.T. is supported by the City and County of Lucerne as well as the Federal Office for Culture and Migros-Kulturprozent.
