Pour sa programmation d’expositions 2011, Agent Double cherche de projets novateurs, transdisciplinaires et collectifs.

Les propositions retenues seront exposées à partir de janvier 2011.

Le délai d’envoie des projets est le 30 septembre 2010.

REGLEMENT :
1. Le concours est ouvert à tous : aux artistes et aux praticiens issus d’autres domaines.
2. Toute forme de discipline est admise.
3. Chaque projet est présenté sur une seule page, format A4. A côté de la présentation figure un petit budget de production détaillé, ainsi que les informations personnelles des candidats : noms, prénoms, email, téléphone.

4. Des documents de présentation annexes (plans, dessins, photos, CD-ROM, DVD, liens Internet, etc.) sont recommandés.

5. Les dossiers doivent être rédigés en français ou en anglais uniquement.

6. Les projets doivent être envoyés jusqu’au jeudi 30 septembre 2010 par email à : info@agentdouble.ch ou par courrier postal au 23, bd du Pont d’Arve/1205 Genève – CH
7. Les résultats du concours sont communiqués autour du mi-octobre 2010 sur : www.agentdouble.ch
8. Agent Double se réserve le droit de ne pas commenter sa décision.

OPEN CALL

Inaugurated in December 2008, Agent Double is an independent and non-profit contemporary art venue situated in the heart of Geneva – Plainpalais.

In tune with the surrounding neighbourhood, Agent Double is a space dedicated to all forms of contemporary art encouraging creative exchanges and collaborations and promoting a network of contemporary artists on a local, national and international level.

For its 2011 programming Agent Double is looking for innovative, transdisciplinary and collective projects.

The topic is open.

The selected works will be exhibited from January 2011.

The deadline for submission is 30 September 2010.

Application form:
1. The candidacy is open to all: artists and practitioners from other domains.
2. All forms of disciplines are welcome.
3. All proposals should be presented on an A4 paper format. In addition to the proposal there should be a detailed description of expenses as well as your personal data: first name, surname, e-mail address, telephone number.
4. Additional presentational documents (plans, drawings, photos, CD-ROM, RDV, internet links, etc.)
5. The projects should be sent in French or English exclusively.
6. The projects should be sent until 30 September, 2010 by e-mail to info@agentdouble.ch or by regular mail to 23, bd du Pont d’Arve/1205 Genève – CH.
7. A list of the selected works will be available from the middle of October 2010 on www.agentdouble.ch
8. Agent Double reserves the right to not communicate its decision.

The title of the exhibition, «What’s the Difference?», refers to the current condition at the Center for Cultural Production that is being run by the PROGR Foundation since January. In the course of a major restructuring, its ground floor has been given a new look, new galleries have moved in, renovated their spaces and joined to open together as part of a new public gallery zone. In that context, the Stadtgalerie has invited artists Quynh Dong, Omar Ghayatt, Anastasia Katsidis, Tobias Spichtig and Sislej Xhafa whose works examine cultural differences and specifically take on cultural and historical icons to reinterpret them in the context of new references – the spectrum of influences ranges from Da Vinci’s sketches to Italian pop songs, from the self portraits of Andy Warhol to the portraits of Marlene Dumas.

Als Projekt der Abteilung Kulturelles der Stadt Bern unterstützt die Stadtgalerie das regionale Kunstschaffen im Austausch mit nationalen und internationalen Positionen und vermittelt in regelmässigen Ausstellungen und Veranstaltungen aktuelles, experimentelles und anspruchsvolles Kunstschaffen an ein lokales Publikum. Sie betreibt ausserdem ein Kulturaustauschprogramm für internationale KünstlerInnen und KuratorInnen, u.a. in Zusammenarbeit mit der Kulturstiftung Pro Helvetia.

Stadtgalerie is a project of the Department of Cultural Affairs, Bern. As a venue for art events and exhibitions, its goal is to present and promote regional as well as national and international artists to a local audience. It runs a program for cultural exchange, offering residency opportunities for foreign artists and curators through a collaboration with Pro Helvetia, the Swiss Arts Coucil.
